1. Make the skin smooth
2. The skin becomes soft
3.  Acts as moisturiser, the moisture is retained in the skin
4. Gets rid of the dead skin cells, the salt is good for exfoliation
5. Helps in treatment of acne

However, the Dead sea salts may cause dryness for certain types of skin. They should not be used after shaving or on skin with cuts.

Dead sea salts

Dead sea salts contain minerals which may help in treating skin conditions like psoriasis, irritation, skin itchiness or eczema. Bath salts are prepared by combining these salts with essential oil such as lavender, jasmine, rose, geranium .

Balneotherapy is therapeutic bathing, submersing the ailing body in highly mineralized waters This is achieved by bathing in sea water or other naturally mineralized water like spring water. However it may not be possible for every person to visit the seaside or spring, so person can undergo balneotherapy by adding salts and algaes to water used for taking bath.

Since the dead sea salts contain mineral elements like sulfur, potassium, manganese, etc, these minerals are absorbed transdermally (through the skin) and a balance is achieved by the body in an indirect way. It is believed that the mineral composition of the human body and the sea is very similar, and so this treatment method is effective for the very ill and people of all ages. Balneotherapy has been widely used across continents for many decades.
